Things that the 4-H office can offer are:

 

  • Scales - to weigh pigs, lambs, or goats.

 

  • Hoof Trimming Table - for Steers and Heifers.

 

  • Clippers - for trimming hair on livestock.

 

  • Feeding Charts, Home visits, and so much more!

Grant County Fair 4H Activities:

 

Livestock Judging Contest:

Novice, Junior, and Senior Divisions judge classes of Market Steers, Lambs, Pigs, and possible Goat Class. Of which each person determines their top picks for the class based on current Market demands. Buckles are generously donated by members of the community for each of the 3 divisions.

 

Pee-Wee Pig Show:

Is where youth under the 4-H age of 9 show a pig of a friend who is already showing at the fair for a chance to receive a ribbon.

 

 

Round Robin Show:

Senior Level participants show a steer, lamb, and a pig in order to determine who is the best all-around showmanship winner. The participants cannot show their own livestock for this show.

October 1st - December 18th is the enrollment deadline for all 4-H livestock competitors.  Listed below are a few of the livestock competitions that 4-H participates in.
