H-Y Ranch Rodeo

H-Y Ranch presents a wild and exciting rodeo that feature contestants from around Grant County and beyond.

The ranch rodeo is a competition between teams, usually 4 or 5 cowboys, from ranches around the area and the state.  These cowboys compete in various events similar to the jobs that they do on the ranch. The team that completes all the required events in the fastest time or the best score wins.  Much strategy is used between the cowboys as to which cowboy can rope or ride the best to get the best score in each event.  The gear the cowboys use, from their saddles to their spurs, is the same gear that they use everyday on the ranch.  "Riding for the brand" is what they call it and much pride goes with winning.
Events include:  Horse Catching, Trailer Loading, Doctoring, Branding and Bronc Riding.
Prizes:  $1500.00 added and Ranch Rodeo Buckles
